Biography:
Her research interests include Computational Sociolinguistics, Modeling Complex Human Behavior, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. She was recently awarded funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Army Research Laboratory, examines the effectiveness and even ethical implications of using chatbots capable of influencing people's opinions in online discussions. Dr. Shaikh holds a dual appointment in the Department of Computer Science and Psychology.
